Review: Seconds Before Sunrise by Shannon Thompson

To be honest, after reading the first book, Minutes Before Midnight, I had high expectations for this one.

But what came next was unfathomable. From the very first word, Shannon had me captured. Again and again I had that feeling of wanting the story to finish but not wanting the book to end.

I am very picky when it comes to books. I do read anything and everything, however I very rarely enjoy any as much as I enjoyed this. Seconds Before Sunrise has it all:  Comedy; romance; action. You name it, this story is the real deal.

The trilogy is based on a fight between the light and dark shades. The dark shades are the ‘goodies’ and the ‘bad guys’ are the light shades. The story is based around a boy named Eric and a girl named Jessica.

The first book is all about the supernatural world and their growing powers. The second book however focuses on the human world and their lives as teenagers

My dad and I read this as a pair, which made for a very amusing time. I would constantly be coming down and talking randomly about different theories. My mum and brother had no idea what we were talking about.

All in all I strongly recommend reading this book and the previous one, Minutes before midnight. They are both superb.
